Ervin Donald Baltimore, 86, of Madison, Alabama, passed away on November 2, 2026. He was born July 2, 1940, in Manchester, Tennessee.

Ervin answered the call to serve his country as a young man and devoted 27 years to the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1985. His dedication to service did not end there. After his military retirement, he went on to work for the United States Postal Service.

Ervin had a curious mind and a lifelong love of science. He was fascinated by how the world worked and never tired of learning something new. He was happiest with a fishing line in the water or spending time with friends and family. He was an avid animal lover, bird watcher, and gardener. He was a good man, loving husband, exceptional father, steady, kind, and devoted to the people he loved.

Ervin is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Doris Baltimore; his son, Steven Baltimore; his daughter, Tabatha Pittaluga; and his grandchildren, Anthony Baltimore, Amara Abell, Dominic Pittaluga, and Gianna Pittaluga, his first great grandchild Alexander Abell, brother Robert Baltimore, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Rosa Baltimore, and his siblings, Junior Baltimore, Howard Baltimore, Phillip Baltimore, Kenneth Baltimore, Marselle Wiser, Maxine Hartz, Ruth Baltimore, Evelyn Humphrey, and Dean Smithson.
