Jacqueline (Jacque) Van Roekel was born on August 29th, 1977, in Aurora, Illinois, to her parents Alan and Susan Weber. Jacque passed away peacefully with her daughter Sadie and son Seth by her side on August 13th, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was 48 years old and happily resided for one day in her new home at 100 Cotton Place in Hartselle.
Preceding Jacque in death were her grandfathers, Dennis Allen and Laverne Weber, Jr.; uncle, James Laverne Weber; great aunts, Virginia Weber, Shirley Lippold, Joan Petrie, and Ann Wells; great uncles, Virgil Lippold, Robert Fisher, Jim Petrie, Pete Petrie, Francis Allen, and Bill Allen.
Jacque is survived by her daughter, Sadie Van Roekel; son, Seth Van Roekel; parents, Alan and Susan Weber; sister, Leah (Jake) Evans; brothers, Eric (Heather) Weber and Ben (Tyche) Weber; nieces, Ava and Cadee Evans; nephew, Brennon Evans; grandmothers, Celeste Allen, Barbara Weber and Sharon Allen; great aunt, Karen Fisher; uncles, John (Kim) Allen, Terry Weber, Mark (Debbie) Weber, and Matt (Jane) Weber, aunts Debby (John) Adent, Cindy Schulz, and Beth (Bob) Niemietz, and many dear cousins and friends.
Jacque loved Jehovah God, her family, and the many friends she called “Brother” and “Sister.” She dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the age of twelve on May 14th, 1989, in Romeoville, Illinois. As her faith grew, Jacque had the privilege of sharing in Circuit Assembly and Regional Convention program parts as a youth and young adult. She served as a Regular Pioneer Minister and attended the Pioneer Service School to further develop her theocratic skills in 1996. Jacque enjoyed helping others spiritually.
Jacque’s desire to help people in need led her to choose a career in Nursing. She graduated from the nursing program at J.F. Drake State Technical College in Huntsville, Alabama, and became a Licensed Practical Nurse on July 23rd, 1999. She was a Nurse for 27 years and an employee of Huntsville Hospital for the past 4 years. In her nursing career, Jacque specialized in caring for special needs children, those with disabilities, and geriatric patients. She became a home health nurse and provided in-home patient care to many grateful homebound senior citizens across north Alabama.
Jacque endeared herself to her family and friends. She was deeply loved by her family, especially her daughter Sadie and son Seth. Jacque treasured spending time with her children, who were the love of her life, on family vacations, travelling, at the beach, attending concerts and theme parks, visiting out-of-state family and friends. She was an avid book and journal reader. She talked to her pet parakeets like they were “little people” as she, in a gentle and kind voice, expressed her love for them. Jacque will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Safely in Jehovah’s memory – the God of all comfort.
