Jacqueline Van Roekel

Jacqueline ("Jacque") Van Roekel, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, with her cherished children Sadie and Seth by her side. She was 48 years old.

Jacque was born on August 23, 1977, in Aurora, Illinois, to Alan and Susan Weber. She lived a life filled with family, friendship, and laughter. Her siblings affectionately nicknamed her "Flaps," a name that remained a treasured family term of endearment.

Preceding Jacque in death were her grandfathers, Dennis Allen and Laverne Weber Jr.; uncle, James Laverne Weber; great aunts, Virginia Weber, Shirley Lippold, Joan Petrie, and Ann Wells; great uncles, Virgil Lippold, Robert Fisher, Jim Petrie, Pete Petrie, Francis Allen, and Bill Allen.

Jacque is survived by her daughter, Sadie Van Roekel; son, Seth Van Roekel; father of her children, Kenny Van Roekel; parents, Alan and Susan Weber; sister, Leah (Jake) Evans; brothers, Eric (Heather) Weber and Ben (Syntyche) Weber; nieces, Ava and Cadee Evans; nephew, Brennon Evans; grandmothers, Celeste Allen, Barbara Weber and Sharon Allen; great aunt, Karen Fisher; uncles, John (Kim) Allen, Terry Weber, Mark (Debbie) Weber, and Matt (Jane) Weber, aunts Debby (John) Adent, Cindy Schulz, and Beth (Bob) Niemietz, and many dear cousins and friends. She leaves behind countless cherished memories and humorous stories that those who loved her will carry with them forever.

Jacque's love for people and her devotion to Jehovah God motivated her to dedicate her life to Him. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on May 14, 1989, in Romeoville, Illinois. Throughout her life she found great joy in helping others spiritually and sharing her faith.

She had a remarkable ability to make others feel loved, valued, and cared for. During her 27-year nursing career, she developed a special affection for caring for children with special needs, individuals with disabilities, and elderly patients.

Jacque treasured time spent with her children, who were the love of her life. Whether enjoying family vacations, relaxing at the beach, attending concerts and theme parks, or visiting family and friends across the country, she cherished every moment with them.

She was an avid reader, particularly enjoying books and journals. She also adored her pet parakeets, speaking to them as though they were "little people" and expressing her affection in her characteristically gentle and loving way.

Jacque was known for her love of the color purple, her quick wit, and her famous brownies. Those who knew her will remember her not because she was perfect, but because she was uniquely and wonderfully herself. She loved fiercely, laughed often, and had a gift of making ordinary moments unforgettable.

We will miss her voice, her laughter, her advice, her hugs, and even the things that occasionally drove us crazy. We will tell her stories. We will laugh until we cry. We will gather together and share her favorite foods. Most importantly, we will hold her memory close to our hearts until the day we see her again.

Visitation is Friday, August 28, 2026 from 4-7pm at Legacy Chapel at 16 Hughes Road, Madison, AL, 35758. Funeral to follow on Saturday, August 29 at 1pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 7757 Wall-Triana Hwy, Harvest, AL 35749.
