Loretta Kay Miller McKinney

Loretta Kay Miller McKinney, 67, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away on August 26, 2026 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Loretta met her husband and life partner in 1979 at the Wesley Foundation at Mississippi State University. Following their wedding in September 1981, she was whisked off to Great Falls, Montana. Loretta was a woman of remarkable strength and resilience. As an Air Force wife, she made a home for her family through many moves around the United States, meeting each new chapter with courage and grace. She loved her church and found joy in serving others. In quieter moments, she enjoyed reading and expressing her creativity through crafts.

Loretta was preceded in death by her father and mother, Walter and Pauline Miller.

Loretta is survived by her loving husband, Dave McKinney; her daughter, Allison McKinney; her son, Sean McKinney and his wife, Becky; and her two cherished grandsons, Everett and Owen. She is also survived by her sister, Leanne Gilcrease and her husband, Rickey, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Loretta will be remembered for her strength, her steadfast faith, her generous spirit, and her devotion to family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will live on in the many lives she touched.
