Patricia Ann Moriarty

Patricia Ann “Patty” Moriarty, born July 6, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on August 24, 2026, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama. She was 69 years old.

Patty spent much of her professional life working in medical records, dedicating many years of her career to both Huntsville Hospital and Crestwood Medical Center.

A devoted Christian and lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Patty’s faith was an important and enduring part of her life.

More than her career, however, Patty will be remembered for the relationships she built throughout her life. She was a caring person who deeply valued her friendships and cherished the time she spent with those closest to her. A devoted friend and trusted confidant to many, Patty had a way of forming lasting bonds with the people in her life. Her friendship, kindness and companionship will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” Moriarty and Ruthie Marie Flippo Moriarty.

She is survived by her sister, Pamela Moriarty Reathford and husband, Kenneth Reathford, of Florence, Alabama; nephews, John Tyler Reathford of Florence, Alabama, and William Parnell Reathford and husband, Jacob, of McMinnville, Tennessee; grand niece and nephew Nikii Marie Reathford and August Tyler Reathford of Florence, Alabama; as well as the many friends whose lives were enriched by her friendship and presence.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home in Madison, Alabama.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 5, at 11 a.m. at Jim Hammond Cemetery in Grassy, Alabama.
