Theodore (Ted) Lamkin Williams, Jr.

Ted, who was a beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born on February 27, 1950 in Atlanta, Georgia, and he lived in Lawrenceville, Georgia until moving to Madison, Alabama in 2019.

Ted graduated from East Tennessee State University and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in the claims department for over 40 years and retired in 2018. Ted loved spending time with his family and enjoyed beach trips, Caribbean and European cruises, trips to Walt Disney World and was an active member of Heritage Methodist Church in Madison.

Ted is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janice Moody Williams, daughters Lauren Wilhelm (Steve) and Carolyn Haydel (Spencer), Grandchildren Savannah Haydel, Cohen Haydel, and Steve’s daughter Marietta Wilhelm (Joshua Prusak), brothers Louis Williams (Pam) and Alan Williams, sister Susan Williams, sisters-in-law Brenda Theisen and Cheryl Poteat, many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was proceeded in death by his mother Harriet M. Williams and father Ted L. Williams Sr. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 26 2026 at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home, 16 Hughes Road, Madison, AL 35758. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by the service at 11:00 am.
